Hello,
I know that I haven't blogged in a while (about 2 /12 weeks) but for some reason I have just been scared of not losing enough weight ,so I just haven't weighed myself at all. For the last 2 weeks I have absolutely been trying to eat right and exercise; I feel that as far as that goes I have mainly succeeded. I was scared to weigh myself because I was afraid of really trying hard and nothing happening... which it did! I weighed myself this morning and I weighed 154. I am really frustrated because I am daily logging my calories and eating 1200 on the days I do not work out and 1500 on the days I do but still not really losing. Its like the first few weeks have been easy to drop the lbs, but for some reason now its getting really hard. So instead of letting myself get down and depressed Im just going to continue to keep going until my goal of 130. I google'd ways to get through a plateau and it said to make sure you are really carefully logging your calories, making sure your portion sizes are accurate, and that sometimes when you lose weight your body is smaller and burns less calories throughout the day so its ok to lower your calorie intake just a little bit as you lose. Im not sure that I can lower my calorie intake right now but I am really going to try and pay more attention to my portion sizes because I know this is a struggle of mine. Also if it gets warmer outside I might consider walking and running to switch out my workout routines. Well, my goal is still to lose another 24 lbs and its going to be hard, but l want to do this by my vacation in May so I still have time. Also, my goal is not only to get to 130 but to never be a yo-yo dieter again, so after I get to my goal weight my next goal will be to maintain it and continue to be healthy the rest of my life so I wont have to go through this again. Check in next week and hopefully I will be down at least 3 or 4 more lbs.

Week 5.... WHAT?!
Ok, I am shocked that I gained two lbs this week! I counted calories everyday and worked out almost every day this week! When I weighed myself this morning I was shocked! I thought for sure I would lose about 3 lbs this week , but to gain 2... WOW! I feel like those contestants on the Biggest loser that blew the weigh in! Well, I can say I did not blow the weigh in! And I can definetly see how you can try everything possible to lose and still gain now that it has happened to me.
As I thought about how this could be possible my husband reminded me that we ate fast food (chick fil a, five guys, and taco bell) about four times last week. Even though I counted all the calories that I ate, It was probably still not a healthy choice, therefore may have caused me to gain weight. Also, My cycle (sorry men if your reading this...) has been very off the last few weeks; and that might also have something to do with it considering my boobs feel like they weigh about 10 lbs! :-)
Well, all I can say is I am very disappointed in myself. But all I can do is try harder this week. My plan is to continue to work out as much as possible, eat 1500 calories on the days I do work out and 1200 on the days I do not, and try to make healthier food choices. We will see what happens this week!

Week 4.... WIN!
Ok, I'm really excited to write this post because I lost 3 lbs this week! If you read last week's post I was up 1 lb but I have lost 3 since then so I'm at 155! This week I ate 1200 calories on the days I didn't work out and approximately 1500 on the days I did. I feel like eating 1200 is more accurate for me. When I was eating 1500 I felt like I was eating too much and then at the end of the week I had only lost 1 lb (if that) and it wasn't motivating enough for me! When I weighed in this morning I was expecting to lose at least 2 lbs but was presently surprised by 3! I definitely feel that Im on my way to my goal! This has been the first week I have felt excited about my weightloss and excited to keep going! I also found a bathing suit that I want and I would like to get a size smaller than what I normally wear because I want to get it soon before they sell out of them. Do you guys think that's safe? I mean I hope that I continue to lose weight and I don't want to get a swim suit and then it end up being too big by the summer ya know? Anyways... Next week my goal is to lose at least 2 lbs! Tune in next week for another update!

Week 3...
Ok, So I was so frustrated last week that I didn't lose any weight and so I set some goals to work out and try my best to eat well . Well... yeah I didn't do so well! Again, I fell off the wagon. I guess I really couldn't find any motivation to put in the work. I gained one pound last week so I definitely didn't achieve my goals for last week, but this week is a new week. I'm not going to beat myself up over the past two weeks. This week I feel like I have finally found a motivation to really try my best. Owen and I have bought plane tickets for May for a vacation in Florida. This is my new motivation for losing weight. I would love to be at least half way to my goal weight by May. Now... I do not want to use this "new motivation" as a goal and then when I reach that goal fall off the wagon again (which is part of my problem of being a yo-yo dieter). When I finally reach my goal I want to continue to work out and eat well to maintain my weight. I also decided to cut my calories down to 1200 instead of 1500 because it will allow me to lose more weight faster. Eating 1500 calories allowed me to lose about 1 lb a week but 1 lb didn't feel like very much to me and so I felt like It wasn't really worth all the work for just one lb a week. I'm guessing I should lose about 2 lbs this week if I maintain 1200 calories a day; and on the days I work out I will eat 1500. We will see how this works out. Hopefully next post I will be bragging about losing weight and on my way to my goal!!

Week 2... Fail
As you can see from the title I did not do so well last week. I didn't gain any weight so I'm still at 157, but I didn't make very good food choices towards the end of the week. For three days I didn't even log what I was eating because I either ate out and didn't take the time to figure out how many calories I ate or just felt guilty about my choices and didn't want to log it. I also did not workout one day last week. This week however, I will log everything no matter what it is, and I am going to try to workout at least three days this week. So I am going to set myself a goal for this week of losing another 3 lbs and working out at least three times.

First Week (3 lbs lost)
Well the first week went pretty well actually. My problem doesnt tend to be with the first week. My problem is usually when I lose a significant amount of weight and then feel "skinny" and quit my "diet" without truly getting to my goal. So, this week I ate out three times and still stayed on track! I went to PF Changs one night with some friends and still didnt go over my calories for the day. I also went to Panera and McCalisters one afternoon; I even ate papa murphy's pizza one night! Each time I decided to eat out I simply printed off the nutrition info online and made sure I ate within my calories. Yes, it is sort of a pain to do this, but It was worth it to enjoy eating out without feeling guilty afterwards like I usually do. I only went over my calorie intake twice (once only 85 calories, and last night I went over about 700! because I ate three brownies) Throughout the week, I only truly felt disappointed in myself last night when I ate 3 brownies at my parents house. They were so good and I couldnt stop myself.! But overall throughout the week I feel that I did pretty good! Im starting to realize that I cannot and will not completely deprive myself of certain foods. Its just not realistic to believe that I will never again eat a brownie or pizza or eat out. I feel that many of the problems of yo-yo dieters is that they say " I cant eat this this and this..." But telling yourself you cant eat something is so hard to actually follow through on and so you follow that routine for a while then start to feel deprived and eat it all again and gain back the weight you lost. So, Ive decided to not tell myself I cant eat something. I can eat anything.... As long as I am eating 1500 calories a day thats all I care about! So far this last week it has worked! I lost 3 lbs!

The first day
I decided that I wanted to blog about my weight-loss a few weeks ago when I went to my doctor and he told me I needed to lose about 25-30 lbs. I went to ask him about my weight and also to find out how many calories a day I should be consuming. He told me that I needed 1800 calories to lose a lb a week. I felt that this was too many so I went to Caloriecount.com and they said I should be consuming 1500. So... today is the first day of my "diet" and I have been doing pretty good. I logged that I ate 1502 calories today. I really like caloriecount.com because it keeps track of my calories throughout the day and makes it really easy to keep track of what Im eating and how many calories Im consuming. The reason I titled my blog "the end of the yo-yo dieter" is because for about 6 years I have been constantly gaining and losing 10-15 lbs. I would eat great, and work out hard for about 2 months and lose weight and feel awesome and then I would get comfortable and gain it all back. Its draining and frustrating to keep doing this. I just want to make a lifestyle change and become healthy. I dont want to get comfortable once I lose weight and then gain it all back. I want to FOREVER be conscious of what Im eating and be healthy about it. Some of my friends have questioned my decision to "diet" and that I need to lose weight but I just have to say that I do tend to look lighter/thinner than I really am. My doctor agreed that I could lose 25 to 30 lbs and still be healthy. I know some people are shocked by this but its true. I decided that Im not gonna hide behind my weight issues anymore and Im going to give my accurate weight each week. This is going to be a humbling experience for me since I know my husband as well as some of my friends will be reading my blog and they will know my true weight. Ok.... here it is. I weigh..... 160 lbs! Ok, there, I said it! I have gained about 10 lbs since the summer and I feel horrible! For my height I should be at least 130 or even 125. Now do you see why Im doing this? Bottom line is I just want to be healthy and happy. I want to feel good about myself (something Ive never been able to do). So, I got some inspiration from my friend Anna and decided to blog about this journey. I really appreciate all the feedback and that you even took time to read this. Please continue to do so each week and I will also post it on facebook.
